Description
Divine Lotus-Born Master, Guru Rinpoche Painting | Thangka Art of the Second Buddha
The Lotus-Born Master, Guru Rinpoche, is a highly revered figure who introduced Vajrayana Buddhism to Tibet. This beautiful thangka of Guru Rinpoche is meticulously hand-painted on premium cotton canvas using 24K gold and natural stone colors. The canvas is skillfully prepared to provide a smooth, receptive surface for the pigments. The nature, robes, and floral embellishments are brought to life by the rich, organic tones of natural stone colors created by grinding earth stones and precious minerals. To symbolize divine illumination and spiritual power, 24K gold is gently applied to enhance the sacred decorations. The thangka is depicted in the classic Karma Gadri style, known for its elegant grace, flowing cloud motifs, and spacious, gentle compositions.
Here's a thangka of Guru Rinpoche sitting beautifully on a colorful lotus seat, surrounded by clouds that seem to be drifting by. This scene reflects his incredible birth from a lotus on Lake Dhanakosha. Many people regard him as the Second Buddha, a living embodiment of wisdom, compassion, and the ability to overcome evil and adversity. In his left hand, he holds a skull cup filled with sacred nectar, representing the union of bliss and emptiness. His right hand holds a vajra, or thunderbolt scepter, symbolizing unbreakable wisdom. His katvanga staff rests at his shoulder, signifying tantric wisdom. This thangka is ideal for personal altars, meditation spaces, or as a meaningful gift for any practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism or collector of sacred art.
