Hand-Painted Sacred Tibetan Wheel of Life Thangka | Spiritual Artwork
The Sacred Tibetan Wheel of Life Thangka is a remarkable work of art, meticulously painted. It was made by hand on premium cotton canvas using vivid acrylic colors and 24K gold. The rich spiritual and creative legacy of Tibetan Buddhism is reflected in the traditional style, created by a talented Nepali artist. The Wheel of Life is a visually stunning and spiritually meaningful piece. "Collected in 2008, this exceptional work, which took approximately 2–3 months to complete, showcases highly accurate iconography and is enhanced with intricate pure gold detailing."
The Wheel of Life, or Bhavachakra, is a powerful representation of samsara, illustrating the endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. At its center, you’ll see the three poisons—ignorance, attachment, and aversion—represented by a pig, a bird, and a snake, which keep beings trapped in the cycle of suffering. Surrounding this central image are six realms of existence: gods, demigods, humans, animals, hungry ghosts, and hell beings, each depicted in vivid, symbolic detail. The outer rim shows the Twelve Links of Dependent Origination, illustrating how suffering arises and continues through interconnected causes. The deities in the outer ring, such as Yama, the Lord of Death, and other guardian figures, oversee the cosmic wheel, guiding souls through the cycle of reincarnation. This thangka offers a visual representation of the Buddhist teachings on karma and the impermanence of all life.
