Using rich acrylic colors and authentic 24K gold, the Singhamukha Thangka is an impressive and appealing art brocade mounted on cotton canvas. The formidable lion-headed deity Singhamukha is illustrated in striking, vivid colors that reflect her strength, wisdom, and protective essence. Singhamukha features a lion's head, symbolizing courage and strength, along with a body that radiates fierce determination and grace. On the one hand, she wields a Kartika (ceremonial knife) intended to cut the chains of ignorance, dispelling illusion and attachment. On the other hand, she holds a skull cup (kapala), signifying the wisdom acquired through liberation from the cycle of life and death. Additionally, she carries a khatvanga, a three-pronged staff that denotes her control over the three realms of existence and her power to defeat malevolent forces. Around her neck is a garland of severed heads, representing the death of the ego and triumph over illusions and evil influences.
