Description
Small Thangka Painting of Buddha Shakyamuni
Using cotton canvas, which offers longevity and a smooth surface for fine workmanship, this small Thangka painting of Buddha Shakyamuni is a skillfully rendered depiction of the Enlightened One. The natural stone colors, derived from Lhasa pigments, add a vibrant and earthy authenticity to the artwork, reflecting the rich traditions of Tibetan craftsmanship.
In this hand-painted thangka, Buddha Shakyamuni is depicted with a radiant yellow body, seated in serene meditation. He is holding his hands in the earth-touching Bhumisparsha Mudra, which represents the moment of clarity. The monk's bowl he holds symbolizes simplicity and detachment, while his elongated ears show his knowledge and capacity to hear all living things' sorrow. His garments' fine details, glowing gold accents, and vivid natural hues give this sacred piece of art life and make it a very powerful instrument for spiritual connection and meditation.
