The Thousand-Armed Chenrezig in Tibetan Buddhist | Traditional Karma Gadri Style
Created in the traditional Karma Gadri style, this hand-painted Thousand-Armed Chenrezig thangka is known for its serene and spacious composition. The artwork, measuring 18x24 inches, was created on cotton canvas using delicate acrylic colors and genuine 24K gold.
The Thousand-Armed Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit, represents the ultimate embodiment of boundless compassion. He is revered in Himalayan cultures and is believed to have vowed to never rest until all sentient beings are free from suffering. The eleven faces symbolize enlightened consciousness that safeguards all living beings, while the thousand hands, each adorned with an all-seeing eye, represent an endless supply of compassionate means to assist those in need. The practice of Chenrezig, especially through the sacred mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum," is central to Tibetan Buddhist devotion.
Each detail of the painting embodies rich religious symbolism. The Dharma wheel, crystal rosary, and granting mudra refer to the path of enlightenment. The bow and arrow, vase, and wish-fulfilling jewel held in his radiant hands represent offerings of spiritual awakening. The fully blossoming lotus behind him and the deerskin draped over his shoulder signifies spiritual power, compassion, and purity. Standing upon a lotus throne atop a moon disc, this artwork radiates divine presence, making it ideal for meditation, altar display, or as a thoughtful spiritual gift.
