Depicting Tibetan Shyama Tara Seated in Graceful Posture | Symbol of Swift Action, Compassion, and Divine Feminine Power
Our Tibetan Shyama Tara, commonly referred to as Green Tara, is depicted in a serene and graceful thangka created with acrylic colors and 24K gold on cotton canvas. By combining modern pigments with traditional materials, the artwork radiates a sacred glow. The acrylic colors enable intricate detailing, while the 24K gold accents her crown, ornaments, and luminous aura, showcasing her enlightened nature. This painting is executed in the Karma Gadri style, a tradition rooted in the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. This style emphasizes spiritual spaciousness and meditative clarity, allowing for a deeper connection with the central deity through visual and contemplative means.
Shyama Tara, often referred to as the "Mother of all Buddhas," embodies active compassion and protection. She is depicted in a regal, poised posture, with one leg extended and ready to assist those in need. Her right hand is positioned in the granting mudra, signifying the offering of blessings and liberation. In her left hand, she holds a blue utpala flower, which symbolizes wisdom and purity. She wears a crown adorned with five jewels, each representing one of the five wisdoms linked to an enlightened mind. This thangka serves as a spiritual tool, connecting practitioners with Tara's energy, fostering inner peace, and cultivating fearlessness. Each brushstroke carries the lineage of ancient tradition, inviting the viewer into a space of stillness, compassion, and awakening.
