About Our Product
This Traditional Garuda Deity Sculpture measures 9cm in height, 7cm in length, and 3cm in width, with a weight of 0.38 kg. Crafted from brass, the sculpture presents Garuda in a compact traditional form with a powerful bird-like appearance. In Buddhist and Himalayan traditions, Garuda represents power, protection, courage, freedom, and the ability to overcome harmful forces and obstacles.
This Garuda sculpture features a crowned head, strong facial expression, and large feathered wings spreading along both sides. His hands are joined together at his chest in Anjali Mudra (prayer gesture); he is not holding a separate object in his hands. This gesture represents respect, devotion, and reverence. He is shown kneeling with one knee raised, while a serpent appears beneath him, reflecting Garuda’s traditional association with overcoming nagas and harmful forces. Fine carved details cover his crown, jewelry, clothing, wings, and feathers. The figure rests upon a lotus-patterned base, completing the traditional design.
This Garuda statue can be placed on a Buddhist altar, shrine, meditation table, prayer room, or spiritual display. Garuda imagery is traditionally connected with protective practice and can serve as a symbolic reminder of strength, courage, freedom from obstacles, and spiritual protection.
Introduction of Garuda
In Buddhism, Garuda is depicted as a giant bird of prey, sometimes referred to as Suparna, which means "good wings." Like the Nagas, Garudas combine attributes of animals and sacred beings, ranking among the lowest of the Devas. They possess their own rulers and towns, with some having the magical ability to transform into human forms when interacting with people.
