Description
Wrathful Dakini Vajrayogini, Female Yidam Thangka
The most well-known female meditational deity is Vajrayogini, also a wrathful dakini. She is a female Yidam who is portrayed holding a vajra-handled curved flaying knife and sips from a skull bowl in this Vajrayogini thangka artwork. A garland of freshly chopped skulls dangles from her left leg almost to the ankle. Her right leg is bent and pulled up to her inner thigh in a dancer's position.
