Introduction To Virulhaka :
Virūḷhaka is one of the Four Heavenly Kings in Buddhist tradition, known as the guardian of the Southern direction. In Buddhist cosmology, he is the King of the Kumbhāṇḍas (a class of nature spirits) and is often depicted with a fierce expression, holding a weapon such as a sword or club to protect the Dharma. His role is to defend the southern region of the world and safeguard the spiritual practice of sentient beings, dispelling obstacles and opposing forces. In Tibetan Buddhism, his wrathful form symbolizes the power to overcome ignorance and harmful influences.
How do you take care of your statues?
• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by a Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face. Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
