Sacred Wangdu Thangka Print | Spiritual Masterpiece of Tantric Deities for Protection, Blessings, and Transformation
Based on the Wangdu Prayer of the 8th His Eminence Trulshik Adeu Rinpoche
This Wangdu Thangka was commissioned and created for the first time at Enlightenment Studio, Kathmandu, in close consultation with the head lamas of Nangchen Tsechu Gompa, the seat of the Adeu Rinpoches. The composition is based directly on the Wangdu prayer composed by the 8th His Eminence Trulshik Adeu Rinpoche, ensuring both textual and iconographic accuracy.
The commission was initiated by a devoted practitioner who received the lung of the Wangdu prayer and, upon learning that no authentic, properly consulted thangka existed, felt it was important to create one that faithfully reflected the prayer's blessing and intention. Previous representations were known to be inaccurate and created without consultation with the monastery.
The creation of this thangka was a year-long process, involving careful back-and-forth communication between the lamas of Nangchen Tsechu Gompa, including the principal painter of Adeu Rinpoche, and our artists at Enlightenment Studio. Every detail was reviewed to ensure that the final image aligned precisely with the prayer, lineage instructions, and living tradition.
The prayer and practice lineage is deeply connected to Peter Galambos, a Western yogi and realized practitioner, a student of Khenpo Munsel Rinpoche and later of Adeu Rinpoche, who spent ten years in a cave retreat above Nangchen Tsechu Gompa. Adeu Rinpoche compared Peter’s sustained attainment of tummo to Milarepa's, highlighting the extraordinary depth of this lineage.
The Wangdu prayer has since been carefully translated by Adam Pearcey of Lotsawa House, making it accessible to practitioners worldwide while preserving its original meaning and blessing.
The only original painting of this Wangdu Thangka now resides at Nangchen Tsechu Gompa, where it rightfully belongs. Out of a wish to benefit beings and support sincere practice, high-quality art prints of this thangka are now available through Enlightenment Studio.
These prints are produced with great care and reverence and are suitable for shrine placement, meditation practice, or study. It is our sincere hope that this image may support your practice, deepen your connection to the Wangdu prayer, and bring benefit to all beings.
May this thangka reach those with the right karma and serve as a source of inspiration, protection, and realization.
