Description
White Tara as Mother Buddha in Traditional Thangka Style
The White Tara as Mother Buddha is painted in traditional thangka style seated on a Lotus. Our artist has portrayed Tara's serene face containing three eyes, palms of her hands, and her feet' soles, each containing an eye. Above Tara's figure are white clouds emanating to disappear in the sky. The mountains, green hills, and enchanting flora complement the thangka. Closest to her body, a transparent nimbus accentuates her elegance.

White Tara is a meditational deity practiced by the Vajrayana practitioners. White Tara (also called Dolma) is the female Bodhisattva of Compassion. She embodies the motivation of compassion in action, bestowing blessings of mercy and release from suffering. She engenders, nourishes, smiles at the vitality of creation, and has sympathy for all beings as a mother does for her children.
