Sacred Female Bodhisattva White Tara Thangka for Longevity and Compassion
The thangka of the female bodhisattva White Tara is beautifully hand-painted on cotton canvas, using genuine 24K gold and high-quality acrylic colors. Created in the traditional Karma Gadri style, it showcases the classic features of Tibetan sacred art—delicate linework, open composition, and soft, natural tones.
In Tibetan Buddhism, White Tara is a revered female deity known for her compassion, healing, longevity, and protection. The thangka shows her in a vajra posture on a lotus throne, symbolizing purity and enlightenment. Her right hand is positioned in the Varada Mudra, signifying the offering of blessings and compassion. Meanwhile, her left hand, held at her heart in the Abhaya Mudra, cradles a blooming pundarika (lotus) between her thumb and ring finger, representing her wisdom and spiritual purity. White Tara is adorned with a five-jeweled crown, golden ornaments, and silk scarves. Her seven eyes symbolize her omniscient awareness, enabling her to perceive the suffering of beings across all realms and respond with motherly compassion.
The thangka's background is decorated with soft golden hues, an abundance of lotus blossoms, and growing plants, all of which represent beauty, knowledge, and spiritual awakening. The Karma Gadri style aims to create a calm, celestial atmosphere, characterized by its expansive layout and flowing floral details. This composition not only enhances White Tara's spiritual presence but also creates a peaceful and serene visual experience.
