Bodhisattva Manjushri ( Manjushree) is the embodiment of the wisdom of all the Buddhas. According to one tradition, she attained perfect enlightenment a long time back. The Buddhists believe that she is the sole deity of wisdom, blessing devotees to sharpen their memory and intellect. As a result, a devotee can penetrate the vast and profound meanings of the Buddha's teachings. Without the blessings of Mansuri, no one can develop a realization of emptiness. In the thangka, Manjushri is placed at the center, holding the sword of wisdom in her right hand and a bloomed lotus in her left.
