But the true magnificence lies in the presence of the Sharabha, a mythical creature symbolizing the combination of strength, perseverance, and speed. This creature, with the head of a goat, the mane of a lion, and the body of a horse, is an emblem of the imperial forces of nature.
On the Sharabha’s back sit two young Devas, raising crossbeams above their heads to support the makaras, ferocious creatures that guard the sacred space. Beneath two dragons that rise from the clouds, these makaras lend an air of mystical grandeur to the artwork. The naga serpents grip the Garuda, representing the harmonious blend of wisdom, patience, morality, and effort, six essential perfections for attaining nirvana.
The 24K gold accents on black canvas enhance the vibrant thangka, imparting a regal and sacred quality to this divine artwork.
