Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara embodies all the Buddhas and is the most revered Bodhisattva who listens to the world's cries. He represents freeing sentient beings from the mire of suffering. In this pauba print, Chenrezig meditatively sits gracefully in the center with two hands in a devotional gesture. The upper right-hand holds the never-ending cycle, akashamala, and the upper left-hand holds a white lotus. Manjushri and Vajrapani are positioned at the bottom right and left of the thangka print, respectively.
