Exquisite Grand Two-Armed Chenrezig Thangka | Radiating Serenity with Lhasa Stone Colors
Grand Two-Armed Chenrezig is exquisitely portrayed in this exceptional thangka, a rare and precious depiction of the Compassion Deity. Measuring 30 x 40 inches, this original masterpiece is meticulously hand-painted with natural Lhasa stone colors and genuine 24K gold. The gold is applied with the finest brushwork, delicately accentuating the jewelry and sacred ornaments, while the mineral pigments provide a gentle, organic brilliance that deepens with time. The work of art is not only aesthetically beautiful but also spiritually alive because of its general warmth, delicate textures, and light-reflective properties. Chenrezig's two-armed figure, elegantly positioned to the right of the thangka, conveys a sense of dynamic openness and represents the awakened mind's continuous compassion.
Chenrezig, the embodiment of boundless compassion, is depicted in a rare two-armed form, seated on a moon disc that rests atop a fully bloomed pink lotus seat. His right hand extends downward behind the knee, touching or just above the moon disc, embodying the gesture of supreme generosity. His left hand is raised in the Abhaya Mudra while holding a lotus flower, representing awakened purity and unconditional compassion. Chenrezig's legs are crossed in a relaxed vajra posture, with a slightly raised left leg indicating his active willingness to respond swiftly to suffering.
A soft, glowing halo encircles Chenrezig’s head, signifying his enlightened nature and radiant wisdom. His body is adorned with flowing scarves, celestial garments, and delicate floral patterns, while his five-jeweled crown reflects the enlightened mind's wisdom. The serene gaze and intricate robes reflect Chenrezig's timeless vow to remain until all sentient beings are freed from suffering.
