Exquisite Grand Two-Armed Chenrezig Thangka | Radiating Serenity with Lhasa Stone Colors
The Grand Two-Armed Chenrezig is exquisitely depicted in this exceptional thangka, representing a rare and valuable portrayal of the Compassion Deity. Measuring 30 by 40 inches, this original masterpiece is carefully hand-painted with natural Lhasa stone pigments and authentic 24K gold. The gold is applied with the finest brushwork, subtly highlighting the jewelry and sacred ornaments, while the mineral pigments impart a gentle, organic brilliance that intensifies over time. This artwork is not only visually captivating but also spiritually vibrant, thanks to its overall warmth, delicate textures, and reflective qualities. The two-armed figure of Chenrezig, gracefully positioned to the right of the thangka, conveys a sense of dynamic openness and symbolizes the perpetual compassion of the awakened mind.
Chenrezig, representing unlimited compassion, appears in a two-armed form. He is seated on a moon disc that rests on a fully bloomed pink lotus seat. His right hand hangs down behind the knee, either touching or just above the moon disc, signifying the gesture of ultimate generosity. His left hand is raised in the Abhaya Mudra while holding a lotus flower, which symbolizes pure awakening and unconditional kindness. His legs are crossed in a relaxed vajra posture, with the left leg slightly elevated, symbolizing his swift readiness to help those in need.
A gentle, luminous halo encircles Chenrezig’s head, symbolizing his enlightened nature and luminous wisdom. His body is decorated with flowing scarves, heavenly garments, and intricate floral motifs, while his five-jeweled crown exemplifies the wisdom of the enlightened mind. The calm gaze and elaborate robes embody Chenrezig's enduring vow to remain until all sentient beings are liberated from suffering.
