In this Himalayan art, Our artist has portrayed the thangka of Guru Rinpoche seated very peacefully and wearing a monk's hat. He sits on a lotus with his right hand in a mudra holding a vajra and his left hand holding a skull cup. His inner garment is white, symbolizing the clear light aspect of the mind and his outer garment is brown, symbolizing his renunciation. The thangka exudes the blue water filled with lotus and a giant lotus for Guru with green hills and water flowing from the mountains towards the lake.

Guru Rinpoche (Lotus-born) refers to Guru Rinpoche's birth from a lotus in the land of Oddiyana. Guru Rinpoche is the founder of Tibetan Buddhism and the Buddha of our time. He is also called The Precious Master. A fully enlightened Buddha, Guru Rinpoche trained himself at many sacred places and taught infinite visible and invisible beings. He pacified many opposing forces obstructing his enlightening activities through his invincible powers.
