Immerse yourself in the boundless compassion and divine energy of this hand-painted 1000-armed Chenrezig Thangka. Created with natural Lhasa stone colors and enhanced with 24K gold, this masterpiece is meticulously painted on cotton canvas in the traditional Karma Gadri style. Known for its intricate details and vibrant colors, this thangka embodies the essence of Chenrezig’s infinite compassion. Whether displayed in your meditation space, home, or on an altar, it serves as a powerful spiritual focal point, inviting peace, healing, and universal love into your environment.
Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara, is the Bodhisattva of Compassion, renowned for his ability to perceive and alleviate the world’s suffering. His 1000 arms represent various ways to help, while his eleven faces signify his awareness of suffering from all directions. Chenrezig aims to rescue all sentient beings from pain, symbolizing his boundless compassion and wisdom. He is highly respected in Tibetan Buddhism and often called upon for healing and protection.
In this thangka, Chenrezig is beautifully depicted with his 1000 arms, each hand holding a different sacred object to symbolize his varied methods of compassion. His arms stretch outward in every direction, with eyes on each palm representing his ability to see and alleviate suffering wherever it exists.
He sits atop a fully bloomed lotus, symbolizing purity and divine wisdom. He is surrounded by intricate symbols: a crystal rosary, a Dharma wheel, and a moon disc, all of which enhance his powerful presence. The deerskin, wish-fulfilling jewel, together with the bow and arrow, reinforces his role as a protector and healer. His detailed face radiates kindness, with a compassionate gaze that connects with those who seek solace. The use of 24K gold highlights Chenrezig’s divine aura, while the vibrant natural Lhasa stone colors breathe life into the composition.
