Introduction to thangka
Ganesh is one of the most well know of the Hindu gods, he is the Lord of success and destroyer of evils and obstacles. Also know as Ganesha or Ganapati he is worshipped as the god of education, knowledge, wisdom, and wealth.
Ganesha, also spelled Ganesh, also called Ganapati, elephant-headed Hindu god. Although he is known by many other attributes, Ganesha's elephant head makes him particularly easy to identify. Ganesha is widely revered as the Remover of Obstacles and more generally as Lord of Beginnings and Lord of Obstacles, patron of arts and sciences, and the deva of intellect and wisdom.
