Introduction To The Thangka :
One myth says that Manjushree gained complete enlightenment a very long time ago. Because he cared about the wellbeing of all sentient beings, he voluntarily entered the world as a Bodhisattva. He was one of Lord Shakyamuni's eight most important followers, and he frequently brought up issues related to emptiness so that others may learn. The Buddhists see him as the lone deity of wisdom who bestows blessings on his followers to hone their brains and memory. A devotee can therefore understand the expansive and profound significance of the Buddha's teachings. No one can develop the realization of emptiness without the blessings of Manjusri.
How to take care of your thangka?
-Hang your thangka in a traditional silk brocade
-Regular Inspection of your thangka; examine the borders and all attachments.
-Keep thangkas covered when they are on display but not in use.
-Rotate thangkas between display and storage on a regular basis, two to four times a year, to reduce the amount of exposure to light. Keep away from sunlight and humidity.
-Do not apply liquids or other materials to the surface of the thangka.
