Avalokiteshvara, also known as Chengrezig, is a well-known bodhisattva in Tibetan Buddhism who is revered for his kindness and compassion. A well-known representation of Chengrezig has four arms, signifying his capacity to lessen the suffering of sentient creatures in all four directions of space.

In this form, Chengrezig often has four arms; two of them are folded in prayer at his heart, and the other two are holding a lotus flower and a crystal mala. He frequently has an eye on each palm in representations, signifying his all-seeing intelligence and compassion.
