Description
Hand Painted Samantabhadra with Consort Thangka
Our artist has painted Samantabhadra with consort thangka in traditional karma gadri style with genuine 24k gold. Samantabhadra is seen embracing his consort Samantabhadri in Yab-Yum, the sacred union in this thangka painting . His skin is blue, and he sits in the 'vajra' posture, with his two hands in his laps in the meditation gesture. The colorful nimbus engulfs them, and the light pink halo illuminates their faces. They are seated atop a moon disc lotus seat beneath the beautiful sky and ambience.

In Buddhism, Samantabhadra is a bodhisattva who is related to practice and meditation. In Mahayana Buddhism, he forms the Shakyamuni Triad with Gautama Buddha and the bodhisattva Majushri. He is the patron of the Lotus Sutra and is said to have taken the 10 great vows that form the basis of a bodhisattva, according to the Avatamsaka Sutra.
