Shakyamuni Buddha Thangka
Introduction To The Thangka :
Shakyamuni Buddha, referred to as "the Buddha," is the historical Buddha and the founder of Buddhist thought. Each "Kalpa" (a Buddhist eon) is seen as having its own Buddha in the Buddhist faith, whose teachings eventually dwindle until the next Buddha appears. He is thought to have lived around 420 BC and devoted most of his time to preaching the Dharma. His life is vividly portrayed in The Life of Buddha Thangka. He is considered an inspiration, a mentor, and a role model. He is claimed to be guaranteed a place on Earth by the "dharma," or spiritual doctrine, and the "sanga," or Buddhist society.
