Shakyapa Mahakala, the wrathful protector deity of the Sakya lineage in Tibetan Buddhism symbolizes intense compassion and unwavering commitment to defending the Dharma. This impressive thangka, measuring 30" x 40" inches, is hand-painted on black canvas and embellished with real 24K gold. It is a powerful and significant piece of sacred art, rendered in the traditional Nakthang style, which embodies Shakyapa Mahakala's fierce wrath and divine authority.
Standing in his wrathful posture, Shakyapa Mahakala radiates strength and resolve. The primordial Buddha Vajradhara, who represents the supreme source of compassion and wisdom, sits in tranquil majesty above him. Chitipati, Palden Lhamo, Ekajati, and Bhutadamara all surround Mahakala, offering their own special protecting energies and spiritual direction. The grounded, transforming elements of protection and purification are symbolized by the images of Black Yaksa, Black Yaksi, Black Bhatra, Black Putra, and Bhyush at the base of the thangka.

CONSECRATION OF THANGKA
As requested for consecrations/blessings, we can take thangka to Monasteries/Rinpoches from nearby Boudha Stupa. We kindly ask you to offer $50 for the monasteries for blessings/consecration services.
