Description

Tibetan Amitabha Buddha Painting | Symbol of Enlightenment and Pure Land Bliss

This Tibetan Amitabha Buddha is a hand-painted thangka created in our Enlightenment studio on high-quality cotton canvas. It uses natural stone colors and features accents of 24K gold. Every detail, from the glowing halo to the delicate lotus petals, is carefully painted in the traditional Karma Gadri style, known for its clarity and spaciousness. The ruby-red Amitabha figure contrasts beautifully with a subtle background, while the lotus throne, moon disc, and monk’s bowl are highlighted with layered pigments, creating both depth and spiritual radiance.

Amitabha, the Buddha of Infinite Light, is one of the Five Dhyani Buddhas and rules the western Pure Land, Sukhavati, where followers aspire to rebirth there to hasten their path to enlightenment. In this thangka, he is depicted in deep meditation, seated on a lotus throne with a serene expression, dressed in a monk’s robe that symbolizes simplicity and renunciation. His hands form the dhyana mudra while holding a monk’s begging bowl, representing wisdom and compassion. The Dharma wheels on his feet reflect his everlasting vow to lead beings from ignorance to liberation, and his ruby-red body signifies infinite compassion and boundless spiritual energy. This thangka is more than just art—it is a sacred depiction of Amitabha’s blessings, ideal for meditation, temple practice, or as a spiritual focal point.
