Description
9" x 13" Tibetan Bodhisattva Manjushri | Embodiment of Wisdom and Knowledge
Measuring 9 x 13 inches, the Tibetan Bodhisattva Manjushri thangka is a powerful visual representation of insight and understanding. In the tradition of Mahayana Buddhism, Manjushri—whose name translates to "Gentle Glory"—is held in high regard as a manifestation of transcendent wisdom. For those who are looking for wisdom, eloquence, and mental clarity, this thangka holds significance as it represents the sharp intellect that dispels ignorance.
This thangka is hand-painted on high-quality cotton canvas using natural stone colors and 24K gold. The gold is applied in intricate layers to enhance the deity's ornaments, crown, and sacred details. The thangka is executed in the Karma Gadri style, known for its elegance and spacious composition, reflecting a balance between divine and natural elements. The artists honor this style with detailed brushwork and a soothing, earthy palette.
The thangka depicts Manjushri, a young, calm figure, sitting on a moon disc on a lotus seat. He raises the Flaming Sword of Wisdom, symbolizing the power to cut through delusion, and holds a blue utpala flower with the Prajnaparamita Sutra, representing the Perfection of Wisdom teachings. A swirling, silken scarf gracefully encircles his form, and the calm, mountainous background further enhances the meditative tone of the piece. It is a revered and precision-created artwork, ideal for practitioners, collectors, or those seeking awakened wisdom.
