Enlightened One Who Taught the Path to Liberation | Historical Buddha Art from the Enlightenment Studio
Our Enlightenment Studio was privileged to have skilled artists create an exquisite Tibetan thangka of Shakyamuni Buddha. This significant piece, measuring 9 inches by 13 inches, is elegantly embellished with natural stone pigments and luminous 24K gold on fine cotton canvas. The vibrant hues and gold highlights enhance the sacred symbols, robes, and radiance surrounding the Buddha's figure. Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Gautama Buddha, is revered as the founder of Buddhism, embodying wisdom, compassion, and fearless realization. Executed in the Karma Gadri style, it embodies the serene openness and refined simplicity of Tibetan art. The painting features a Buddha surrounded by lotus and misty mountains, creating a peaceful atmosphere that mirrors the infinite expanse of the enlightened mind. This stylistic approach enhances the contemplative quality of the Thangka, making it an ideal centerpiece for meditation or spiritual focus.
This depiction shows Gautama Buddha seated in deep meditation on a moon disc, resting on a fully bloomed lotus seat that signifies spiritual purity and transcendence. His right hand touches the earth, and his left holds a monk's alms bowl, symbolizing detachment and wisdom. His luminous yellow body represents compassion and enlightenment, while the ushnisha and elongated earlobes symbolize spiritual knowledge and renunciation. The soft halo behind his head highlights his transcendent, timeless presence. Every detail, from the folds of his monastic robe to the blooming lotuses, has been carefully hand-painted, embodying the Buddha's unwavering peace and highest enlightenment.
