Note: The 21 Tara Thangka is an original painting from Enlightenment Studio, located at Boudha Stupa.
The Thangka portrays the compassionate 21 Tara. According to tantric teaching, within this human body, we have twenty-one knots. These are in pairs and they obstruct or block our channels. Through practice, as we release each of these pairs of knots, we obtain a specific experience or realization. After we have released all of the 21 knots, we are known as enlightened beings, having attained Buddhahood.
Following 21 Tara's thangka practice, we develop strong feelings of joy, happiness, and closeness. Especially in the form of the Green Tara, Sengdeng Nagchi Drölma, she liberates sentient beings from the eight great fears.
