Traditional Two-Armed Chenrezig Buddha | Known as Avalokiteshvara, the Lord of Compassion | With Amitabha
An exquisite Two-Armed Chenrezig Buddha Thangka, hand-painted on fine cotton canvas with natural stone colors and enriched with genuine 24K gold. Created in the revered Karma Gadri style, this artwork features a spacious composition, naturalistic landscapes, and refined details that highlight the deity’s serene presence. The application of natural pigments ensures vibrancy and durability, while the gold accents illuminate Chenrezig’s sacred form, rendering this thangka both a devotional artifact and a timeless example of Tibetan artistry.
Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara, is the Bodhisattva of Infinite Compassion and the spiritual patron of Tibet. According to Buddhist tradition, he made a vow never to rest until all beings were free from suffering, and his mantra Om Mani Padme Hum is one of the most widely recited prayers globally. In this thangka, Chenrezig is shown in his two-armed form, radiating simplicity and purity. His left hand rests gently in the meditation mudra, symbolizing inner calm and boundless compassion, while his right hand is placed behind the vajra posture, resting on the lotus seat. Above him, Amitabha Buddha, his spiritual teacher, is depicted, emphasizing Chenrezig’s enlightened lineage. The serene expression, flowing garments, and soft landscape background together capture the essence of wisdom and compassion that Chenrezig represents.
